Chief WILLIE OBIANO, a seasoned banker, technocrat, politician and the fourth Governor of Anambra State, which has one of the highest population densities in Africa, is focused on revitalizing Anambra's economy through industrialization and mechanized agriculture. Agriculture remains the corner stone of his administration with a view to putting the state among the top-3 states in agricultural production in Nigeria, becoming number one in the production of Rice, Cassava and Fish in the first 4 years of his administration, and making the state's agricultural output contribute at least 40% of the GDP of the state. Thus far, over $700 million has been injected into agriculture by private investors for investment in modern rice and cassava production, poultry, tomato processing, etc. Furthermore, some of these funds have been used in procuring 102 new tractors for mechanised farming.
